Our Governance
The governance of the College is the responsibility of the School Council.
The role of Council is to -
- Establish and oversee the strategic approach of the College - Setting major objectives, policy frameworks and strategies
- Prudent financial management
- Fundraise
- Appoint the principal
The College is owned and operated by Sholem Aleichem College Ltd, a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee. The members of the College Council are the Directors of the College. The College Council is comprised of experienced professionals with a wide range of skills and expertise, who meet regularly throughout the year in order to discuss relevant matters and provide support to senior management.
Council has sub committees where members, often current or past parents of the College are co-opted onto Council to offer assistance and or advice. The role of the College Governors is to ensure adherence to the College Philosophy and ethos.
